Grade 5/6 staff: Caulfield primary School, August 2013

"I am very pleased to recommend the 'History of Amazing people Through Story' presentation given to our Year 5 and 6 students during Term 4, 2012.

John Arbuckle captivated the students (and their teachers) with his fast moving, interactive re-telling of the powerful story of the Rev John Flynn, founder of the Royal Flying Doctor Service. John initially rehearsed with a group of about 10 volunteers, setting them up as characters in key scenes of Flynn's journey towards being "the man on the $20 note"!

Together, John and these students then enchanted the two year levels with this wonderful story of Christian innovation and service.

John Arbuckle is an inspiring storyteller in the great tradition of the Aussie Bush!"

Rev. Laurie Barton, Chaplain, Caulfield Grammar School, Wheelers Hill Campus.

"The HATS John Flynn presentation was enjoyed by staff and students alike. It was both educational and entertaining."

Grade 5 & 6 staff: Waverley Christian College, Narre Warren South, Vic: November 2013

"We held a performance for each of Year 5 & Year 6. The history came alive for the students and both the harshness and courage of outback life was exposed. As part of our Religious and Values Education program it effectively illustrated faith in action in an Australian context. The involvement of students in the performance was fantastic and the students loved it."

Chaplain: Beaconhills Christian College, Berwick, Vic: December 2013

"I really enjoyed participating in the HATS production at church.  It not only taught us Australian history in an amazingly interactive way, but it also reiterated the strength of this early Christian.  One dedicated person can make a huge difference to society – where would the outback be without the determination of John Flynn in realising his dream of what is now the R.F.D.S."

Jacinta Holmes, student, parishioner, St Peter’s Anglican Church.

"Thanks John, the HATS performance maintained the attention of our congregation, ranging in age from 3 years – 85 years, and was loved by many.  The props were authentic, the history relevant and the ability to showcase Christianity in action was highly appropriate for this audience.  Everyone took something away from this presentation.  Congratulations on a unique concept!!"

Lydia Holmes, Family Services Co-ordinator, St Peter’s Anglican Church.
